MULTICULTURAL FESTIVAL COMES TO THE COLLECTION OCT. 4

OXNARD, Calif. (September 23, 2014) — The Collection at RiverPark will host the 19th annual Multicultural Festival on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. in Collection Park.

Admission is free.

The festival features live music and performers, food and vendor booths, exhibitors, demonstrations, arts & crafts and plenty of family-friendly activities. The bands scheduled to perform include the GK4 Band, Memo & Friends, Mestizo, and In Stone.

The Multicultural Festival is presented each year by the City of Oxnard’s Community Relations Commission. The festival celebrates the rich cultural diversity of its residents and the city’s history. People of every culture come together to learn and discover their shared values in an atmosphere that honors all.

THE COLLECTION’S SCHOOL REWARDS PROGRAM BENEFITS EVERYONE

OXNARD, Calif. (Sept. 11, 2014) — The Collection at RiverPark is launching its School Rewards Program.

The program is an easy and fun way for schools to earn additional funds at no cost to the schools. Kids don’t have to sell anything and parents don’t have to buy anything or write an extra check. They simply shop at The Collection and log their receipts to support their own school.  There are bonus points for attending events, participating in programs at The Collection and even supporting certain community service causes.

The Collection SignSchools that have already signed up for the rewards program include Camarillo Heights Elementary, Emilie Ritchen Elementary, Harrington Elementary, La Mariposa Elementary, Lemonwood Elementary, Norman Brekke School, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish School, Ramona Elementary, Rio Del Mar Elementary, Rio Del Norte Elementary, Rio Plaza Elementary, Sierra Linda Elementary and St. John’s Lutheran School. The first meeting with participating schools will be held on Friday, Sept. 12.  However, there are spots available for more schools to participate in the program.  For more information, call 800-539-3273.

The Collection also will present its September Kids Club event on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 10:30 a.m.-noon. The theme of the day is “Learning is Fun.” Performers will include the “Wonderworld Puppets,” who will present famous stories like “The Tortoise and the Hare.” After the show a short magic show and meet-and-greet will take place.

And there’s even more good news for kids. The Collection will present the “Seaside Steamer,” a kid-friendly

train that will chug-a-lug throughout the grounds of The Collection on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Cost is $3.
